An exhibition of new work opens on Thursday 14th February in the
Gallery at Yorkshire Artspace.
The concept of ‘scale’ in the exhibition alludes to the different dimensions of the work: from the monoliths to the miniature terrarium. It also refers to the activities of rock climbers, more numerous in the local landscape than the grouse on the moors. Many of the details on the monoliths are informed by conversations with climbers and the physicality of climbing is echoed in the effort of throwing and constructing the large pieces, human in both proportion and presence.
